ODOT Rest Area | Preble County, Ohio

PROJECT SUMMARY

BBA teamed with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) to provide design services for a new rest area prototype. BBA then assisted ODOT and OFCC with implementing the first prototype in the State of Ohio, located along eastbound I-70 in Preble County. As travelers approach the building, they are presented with a warm and welcoming facility constructed of sustainable materials and filled with natural daylight.

Greater Dayton RTA | Dayton, Ohio

PROJECT SUMMARY

Brown and Bills Architects, working as an affiliate of Design Group 3, LLC (DG3), provided architectural, planning, and engineering services to the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (GDRTA). This exterior restoration project of the Wright Stop Plaza included new exterior lighting and window shading devices, restoration of the masonry and terra cotta, and the replacement of windows and roofs on the historic building. Services included design, renderings, construction drawings, specifications, and construction observation.

Montgomery County Board of Elections | Dayton, Ohio

PROJECT SUMMARY

The project involved remodeling two levels of the Montgomery County Administration Building to create more functional space for the County Board of Elections. In addition to accommodating significant numbers of early voters during presidential elections, the Board of Elections is also required to securely store large numbers of voting machines during non-election times. Two other departments were relocated in multiple, coordinated phases to minimize downtime. The final phase included constructing a new elevator and loading dock, allowing semi-trucks to maneuver more efficiently on the site.

Stillwater Center | Montgomery County, Ohio

PROJECT SUMMARY

The Stillwater Center is the long-term care home for the most profoundly developmentally disabled residents of Montgomery County, Ohio. Approximately 90% of the 106 residents are care-dependent and utilize wheelchairs throughout their day. The existing structure was replaced with 100,000 SF of new residential units and support facilities. All facilities are on one level to facilitate circulation throughout the campus.
