The project involved remodeling two levels of the Montgomery County Administration Building to create more functional space for the County Board of Elections who needed to accommodate large numbers of early voters during presidential elections. They also have to store large numbers of voting machines during non-election times.
As part of the project, two other departments had to be relocated, which involved multiple phases and coordination within each phase to allow for the moving of people and equipment while minimizing down time for each department. The final phase included the construction of a new loading dock with an elevator that travels two stories underground. It allowed the building to accommodate semi trucks better than the original loading dock.
